Luke Hammill
Bass Guitarist, 2 Days Of Funk
Born January 5th, 1989
Hi, I'm Luke. I play bass. People always ask, "Why didn't you pick guitar?" Honestly, I can't really answer that question, but the
only thing that I do know is that ever since I was young I wanted to play the bass. While growing up, my parents never were
interested in music. This led me to discover everything on my own or also as Billy Shears might say "with a little help
from my friends."
Personally, I would say that I am the most diverse member of 2 Days Of Funk as my musical influences range from Red
Hot Chili Peppers to Wu-Tang Clan. I can listen to anything and enjoy it, as long as it seems to me that the particular
piece of music that I am listening to was worked on with passion and also has a sense of "realness" about it. I won't
make a list of my favorite bands because it would be too long and unfortunately I would leave too many artists out.
However, if I had to take one album to a deserted island it would be Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I am
also a huge fan of hip hop.

I have been playing bass since sixth grade and have been in two other bands. I formed the first band, The Prosts,
in between eighth grade and ninth grade with my two best friends Tim Marlowe and Todd Tobia. The band didn't last
long and we didn't play any shows. It was more of a fun way to pass the time. Former The Road Home guitarist Dexter
Krumrie also temporarily joined the band before its breakup. The second band, called Unfound Sound, was formed by Sam
Berman-Cooper
(known by his stage name: Sam Gillam)
and featured former The Road Home guitarist Sonny Rodo as well as my close friend Bobby Lawn on drums. The band broke up because
Bobby moved to his family's home of Ireland for college. Coincidentally, this was the same reason The Road Home would have to relieve
themselves from their musical duties. Fortunately for 2 Days Of Funk, we have four members who plan to stick around the Nickel City
for a little while longer. Anyway, Unfound Sound played out only a couple of times, but was featured in an article in NeXt
Magazine of The Buffalo News.
I enjoy sports, Mighty Taco, and especially comedian Frank Caliendo's impression of John Madden, Jim Rome, and Charles Barkley.
